Tis the season of change. Trees are shedding thier leaves, mornings are crisp, shorts and tanks have been replaced by jackets and boots and we will soon celebrate the beginning of a new year. It’s a time that we use to reflect upon our accomplishments of the previous year and dream of what we want to accomplish in the next.

For all of the things you’d like to achieve, what are your reasons?  If your goal this year is to focus on your health, tell us why?

Personally, my most important whys are my little pint-sized bundles of joy, frustration, energy and emotion. They are 3 and 2 years old, active and curious and require every bit of my mental and physical energy. They test my patience and my abitly to multi-task daily.

I want to give them the best part of myself, and doing CrossFit gives me that. It is an outlet that allows me to relieve stress, focus on myself and clear my head. I also know that at I am strong enough to pick them up at the same time, carry all of the groceries, throw them over my head and keep up with their never ending supply of go,go,go.

Mostsly though, I want instill in them the same love of fitness. I want to be a healthy role model for them both, but especially my daughter. I want her to know that she can be strong, capable and independent and that the size of her waist has nothing to do with the size of her heart. I don’t want her to ever focus on the scale, but to focus on how gratifying it is to know of what her body is capable.

They are my most important and precious whys.
